The Galapagos Whale Shark Project is the leading group researching these endangered sharks in the Galapagos archipelago. The project uses underwater ultrasounds (like those used in pregnant humans) to investigate the mystery of the whale sharks that swim through this area. Might they be pregnant? With this knowledge they can push for more effective protective conservation measures.
